A Day in London

Hello! Nice to see you again.

In this blog post, I will tell you about what you can do if you only have a day in London!

London can be pretty overwhelming if you don't know where to go, so hopefully this helps you plan your trip a bit better!

River Thames

Let's begin on the River Thames. We started on the opposite side of Big Ben, since the hotel we were staying at- Park Plaza Country Hall London- is on that side. Make sure to take lots of pictures, especially once Big Ben's construction is over.

The London Dungeons

The London Dungeons on the River Thames is a must. It walks you through London's rich history in an accurate and entertaining way. The Dungeons is more like a fun house than a museum, so it really brings history to life. Without giving too much away, some of the content includes the Great Fire of London, Guy Fawkes and the torture chambers, and Jack The Ripper.

The London Eye

The London Eye gives you the best views of the river Thames, and Parliament buildings. It is a Merlin Entertainments attraction along with the Dungeons, so you could bundle your tickets to do both and save some money! The capsules are clear from floor to ceiling and all around, so you can walk around and see different views of the city!

Below is a photo I took from one of the capsules on the London Eye!

Parliament Square

Across the Westminster Bridge are all of the Parliament buildings that are on your bucket list to see. One tip is to get a real map, do not use Google Maps or iPhone Maps. Sometimes things get mixed up in the apps and you will get lost.

Westminster Abbey

The first thing you will come across once you're in Parliament Square is Westminster Abbey. Westminster Abbey is a beautiful church where all of the Royal marriages take place. You have the option on Sundays to attend mass there, but they fill up very quick. I recommend to take in the delicate details and intricate designs from the outside. Find some cool angles to take pictures too!

Here is a different angle of the Westminster Abbey.

Buckingham Palace

This is where you'll need your map. We got a little lost on the way, and even the policemen had a hard time giving us directions on how to get there!

Once you find it though, you'll know. It is constantly crowded, and is such a big estate it is hard to miss it. Make sure to check out the famous Royal guards!

Abbey Road

Lastly, this is for my Beatles fans out there. Abbey Road Studios is where The Beatles, and other notable artists such as Adele record/recorded their albums. Outside Abbey Road Studios is the famous zebra crosswalk, where The Beatles took the famous album cover. It is about a 40 minute Uber ride from Buckingham Palace, and we took the red double decker bus back to our hotel vicinity.

If you are looking to get a photo on the famous zebra crosswalk, be careful. Most of the locals that live near here will not stop for pedestrians anymore, since it takes a long time for everyone to get their photos, cross, etc. Just make sure you are staying safe!

Notable Options!

My family and I did a group Jack The Ripper Tour, that didn't even start until 8! It was dark and spooky, and is an awesome experience for any mystery or true crime fans. I would recommend wearing a heavy jacket, and bring some rain equipment. If you would like to hear more about this experience, message me! I'm willing to do a separate blog post about this!

I also recommend the Graffiti Tunnel, which I wrote about in a separate blog post!

During my time in London, I was not able to visit the Towers of London and see the Crown Jewels. It is first on my bucket list for when I go back.

Thanks, and See You Soon London!
